Communing with the Dead [Day 9, Late Morning]

[Kristal Serasai]

Dressed in her usual set of arms and armor, Kristal made for an impressive image as she moved through the Duros filled streets. Making her way directly toward the location she had been given. Though there was little subtly to it, there was a boon in being a Sith. Those who might spy her approaching any decrepit buildings would hardly want to cross a Sith and through that fear her activities would be kept away from those who didn't know the language of the streets.

She is brought before Darth Baras, several Imperial soldiers gearing up and checking their weapons and armor. Darth Baras pulls on dark armor and throws his robe over it and says, "I knew a day would come when you would come looking for me, Champion of Marr."

Brought before Baras she presented herself much like was her custom, broad shoulders and an Imperial stance. A strong position. One that inspired the weight of the woman's presence.

Kristal raised a brow at his opening, "I doubt your expectation was based off Darth Marr's intent on seeing you remain alive."

[Dapper Dog]

"Darth Marr and I agree that the Empire is in peril, our methods simply differ," Baras responds turning to face her.

"He prefers... vigorous strength and nobility. I prefer to do what needs to be done to see the Empire reach it's destiny."

[Kristal Serasai]

"What destiny do you see lying before the Empire?" she asked, holding back her own criticisms of who she believed this man to be. All entirely negative in the sense that one would expect from someone who had managed to secure the title of Champion of Marr.

[Dapper Dog]

"The Empire stands at a precipice, one hand is the path we have traveled... alienating possible allies, allowing a Dark Council to vie for power, and relying on tradition when new paradigms should take supremacy. There will need to be sacrifices but if we stay our course we are doomed. Change is inevitable and imminent," Baras responds.

[Kristal Serasai]

"It is easy to speak of sacrifice when it is someone else that must die for your goals, Darth Baras," she said, allowing the criticism to shine through.

[Dapper Dog]

"Sacrifices of the weak only strengthen the whole. I am Sith as are you, self sacrifice is for the Jedi," Baras responds.

[Kristal Serasai]

"From my understanding you have sacrificed far more than simply the weak," she says, not wavering in his attempt to associate her statement with that of the views of the Jedi. "Your sacrifices are ones that have wounded our Empire."

[Dapper Dog]

"Your family was merely collateral damage, Serasai. Take it personally if you wish but a confrontation between Torsin and Serasai was inevitable," he says in reply.

[Kristal Serasai]

"Your claim is merely smoke. I know the truth of the woman you seek, and she who seeks you. Responsibility for this travesty rests solely with you.," she looks to him directly so that he may see there is weight to each of her words. "Your actions have marred the memory of my Father, a good and loyal man. That is not something I, or the Empire many fight for could forgive."

[Dapper Dog]

“Your father hardly represents the Empire and he was killed by the Wrath, father f your so-called sister. I played no part in that the purge of your family was at the will of the Dark Council; I was simply tasked to make sure it happened with haste,” Darth Baras replies.

“I am ever a servant of the Dark Council as are you; if you believe your hands will stay clean then you are more naïve than your paramour, Torsin. You either drench your hands in blood or you fall to one who will.”

[Kristal Serasai]

"My Father was an honorable, loyal man of the Empire, one that the Empire needs," she responded. "Someone had laid the groundwork for him to he framed for the death of Grand Moff Torsin, the very accusation that lead to my father's death."

"Whoever is responsible for that will be brought to light to clear my father's name," she said looking directly at Baras, letting him know her suspicions.

"However, that is something that will wait for the proper time. Today, the Empire is in peril and I will do what I must in order to protect it. I have no qualms of dirtying my hands with those who would stand against me, stand against the glory of what the Empire may one day become."

[Dapper Dog]

“Petition the Dark Council for justice, I am sure they will see justice done, swiftly,” he says dismissively.

“Or challenge me directly, and let us end this as Sith. Otherwise I suggest you put aside such notions of justice and honor. Your father is dead, he has no value to any living Sith but yourself. Your list of allies outside of Marr will be few if any.”

When she finishes he agrees and says, “Everything I do is to bring the Empire forward. That will always be my focus, I simply require the power to effect change.”

[Kristal Serasai]

"I will have the truth be known, " she says with a confidence. Refusing to allow hid words to infect her position.

"Your methods are not ones I can agree with. Change must come to the Empire but there is a cost that your actions exact upon the foundation of the Empire you wish to build. Structure, order, those are cornerstones of the Empire. Ones that many toss aside in attempts at gaining personal, temporary power."

[Dapper Dog]

“My methods are the methods of the Dark Council, they do not require your approval,” he says flatly.

[Kristal Serasai]

"Regardless," she casts her hand out to her side. "This debate was not the reason for which I have come here. Darth Marr would know what has transpired surrounding your false death."

"That, and to aid in preserving your well being."

[Dapper Dog]

“Then Darth Marr is a true patriot of the Empire, I needed to be absent to draw out enemies and more importantly do work that personally that would draw attention to the Empire. Once dead I had more freedom to act and now I prepare to end a threat to the Empire,” Darth Baras responds.

[Kristal Serasai]

"Magpie? Your hunter is being lured out," she states as much as she asks.

[Dapper Dog]

“I believe so, her actions are erratic, perhaps she wishes to be caught but I believe she will strike tonight and I will be there to end her. The Force will free me of her meddling tonight,” he replies grimly.

[Kristal Serasai]

"Darth Marr would have me there to ensure your protection," she crosses her arms back behind herself once again.

[Dapper Dog]

"I see, how... generous of him. My agents will contact you when the moment is right," he offers after some thought.

[Kristal Serasai]

"Before I part, if you would allow me," she pulls out her communicator and indicates it. Sure that Baras would understand what she intended to do.

[Dapper Dog]

Darth Baras nods as he pulls up his hood.

[Kristal Serasai]

Kristal patches through to her ship, indicating for them to further patch the connection through to Marr directly.

"My Lord," she says as the image flickers into life. "May I present Darth Baras, alive and well."
