Terror had kept most people in their homes but, by the afternoon, the braver few had begun to venture out again. By mid-evening, things in the Red Light District seemed mostly back to normal. People were wearing wary expressions, but that was nothing new.

So Cole opened the clinic for one, final time.

Remmington beats up some more looters before he finds his way to Cole's clinic. He knocks on the door before entering. "Hey Cole. Hope this is a good time."

"Good time as any," Cole ran a hand through his hair and invited Remmington through to the examination room. "Let's see if there's been any complications, yeah?"

"I wouldn't go that far but I still have a bit of an ache on my side." Remmington replies as he heads over to the examination room to have Cole take a look at him.

"I hope things with you are going well Cole."

[Cole Ormont]

Cole turned on his mediscanner and spectacles, chuckling bitterly, "yes and no," he answered. "I'll be glad to have this moon far, far behind me."

His face grew more solemn as he read the scans. "Looks like you were right, I'm glad you dropped in. You have a laceration on your liver. It's something that could heal on its own, but it's safer not to. Lay back, and lift your shirt, it'll be over before you know it."

Remmington nods and does as the doctor advises. "Speaking of which. What are you going to do once these peace talks are done Cole? Head back to your home work and continue working with the Republic Navy?" He asks.

[Cole Ormont]

The keyhole surgery to patch the damage to Remmington's liver was precise and close to painless. Just yesterday, he would have taken this ample chance to admire the man in front of him and the opportunity for laying of hands that his profession afforded. Today, his mind was only on those with crimson skin.

"It all depends on the talks, really," Cole replied. "If the war goes on, there's no choice for me. I go back to the medical frigate and keep patching together soldiers." He almost hoped that the talks would fail and put a simple end to his agonising.

Fee had heard rumor that there was a clinic open for the people of the smuggler's moon. The Mon Cal decided to drop in and help out where possible, healing those in need and accepting donations from those that chose to spare it.

Greeting the two there while getting to work with some others, but sparse on words while they converse. "Good evening."

Durasay walked into the clinic, still feeling the effects if the heavy repeater he had taken the day before. He grinned as he saw two of his Huttball teammates from his very brief career.

Noting the Mon Calamari, he offered a polite nod.

"Doc, I gotta say, I keep getting hit by that convoy."

[Cole Ormont]

Cole noted the Mon Calamari with curiosity and an approving smile. "Durasay, you have to stop playing in traffic," he deadpanned, spreading his hands. "C'mon through, let's see if we can't get you feeling better."

[Durasay Mixo]

"Well, maybe when they stop putting prettt flashing lights on landspeeders!" He laughed with the man, removing his trench coat as he spoke, before following Cole.

[Cole Ormont]

"Are all Pantorans attracted to shiny things, or is that just your special quirk?" Cole set about patching the wound, cleaning the damaged flesh and covering it gently with a dressing. "That's going to leave a mark."

Cole straightened, running a hand through his hair, "are you headed to Jo'ren's?"

"Ladies dig scars." He winced as the dressing was applied, feeling infinitely better, he began to put his shirt and uniform jacket back on. "Doc, you're a kriffing prince, you know that?" He took in a deep breath, smiling widely.

"I feel like a million credits."

"Hey," Cole deadpanned mock offense, "guys can dig scars too, y'know." He chuckled, "but the ladies are going to love that one."

[Fee Bua]

Stepping closer to the Pantoran, Fee speaks up. "Scar tissue can limit mobility and prove to be a hindrance if you collect too many though. Get brands or tattoos if you want attractive scars." The Mon Calamari smiles at him, and chuckles.

With closed eyes and outstretched hands there was a sense of relief that reached for him, knitting the rest of the wounds underneath the bandages.

Cole narrowed his eyes at the rude newcomer, an eyebrow cocked and jaw set. No one on Nar Shaddaa had impugned his skills like that, not even the feisty Layne when he'd failed to live up to his own reputation.

The narrowed eyes were not lost on Fee, but she simply returned a smile and bowed her head. All she really wished to do was help people. For her, personal pride had no place in caring for the injured.

Remmington nods. "Thanks for everything. I feel great Cole." He lets the others through when they come in.

He offers them polite smiles and greetings. "Hello there guys."

He looks at Cole and then the Mon Calamari that used the Force to heal. "Oh yeah, I have been completely been forgetting to talk to you about this. I am interested in learning more about medicine. To further my knowledge into the Mechanics of Life."

The man sports a scar across this eye through it looks like the eye is still perfectly functional.

Cole's expression towards Fee did not soften with her smile, can't have been on Nar Shaddaa long, he thinks, she, he? would do well to keep it's opinions to itself.

He ran a hand through his hair, answering Remmington, "I remember you mentioning that, back at my first huttball game."

Then, turning back to Durasay, Cole peeled back the dressing he'd applied, uncovering the fine webbing of raw scar-tissue that looked somewhat like a crack in a glass pane. "It'll settle nicely, the ladies will love it."

Remmington nods. "Yes, the Mechanics of Life dictate that all life forms are part of a greater whole. Like gears to a machine. Whether big or small, everything has it's place. I hear that there are many surprising similarities between the studies of mechanics and medicine.

I was hoping that you and Ashla may be able to give me some tips or direct me towards some helpful information in order to learn more."

Cole begins to smile, "that's incredible. I'd love to help you more with that. C'mon through to my office," he made air quotes with his hands, "really talk."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington chuckles and follows him through to the office. "Love what you done with the place. Have you thought about getting a secretary to handle all the patients Cole?"

[Cole Ormont]

Cole shut the door, leaving Private Yongo out in the waiting room, the soldier knew well enough to knock if Cole was needed. The consult room is sparse, with a desk, a stool, and an exam table, "guest's choice," he said, offering Remmington the stool.

The chat about mechanics of life piqued Fee's curiosity, being a cyberneticist, mechanic and medic... but then they went off in private. Nodding to Durasay. "I should get back to the other patients."

Remmington accepts the stool. "So back to the Mechanics of Life. What can you tell me to help increase my knowledge of medicine? Recommendations are fine. I don't expect a cheat code or something."
