Lost & Found (Day 10, MA)

[Nekoinu]

"That connection is an example of one that inhibits us from following our own path," she noted, "Attachment in itself is not wrong. However, it opens up a vulnerability to being controlled by outside influences. Indeed, they can lead us astray.

"The easy choice would be to convert this Sith to the Light. However, such a thing could be arduous and prove too difficult for the young lady."

[Galen Sol]

"I fear she would feel continual guilt and worry if she didn't try." he explained. "Much like I will feel for not being with her. Lyshea, I need to be strong enough to pull her out of she falls."

[Nekoinu]

"Then we will work together so that you are able to." Master Mersl bowed her head. "Remember this: there is always hope for redemption."

[Galen Sol]

""I will, thank you." he dipped his head. "I was at the barge crash site last night and found something that I am unsure what to do with."

Reaching into his backpack, he retrieved a broken lightsaber hilt with a yellow crystal.

[Nekoinu]

The Jedi Master observed the lightsaber and then turned back to Galen. "Perhaps you should return it to its owner. Or perhaps you are meant to reforge it and wield it yourself." She smiled. "The Force works in mysterious ways."

[Galen Sol]

"I don't know how I would locate its owner." he shrugged. "If they were aboard the barge, there is a high likelihood that they did not survive. How would I reforge it?"

[Nekoinu]

"You could search your feelings," she replied in regards to finding the owner, "Though the connection may now be severed. As for forging the blade, that is a long and intricate process, Galen. But I can teach you."

[Galen Sol]

He turned it over in his hands.

"Help me determine if it is connected to someone first, please." he requested. "It would not feel like it was mine, if I did not try."

[Nekoinu]

Lyshea nodded. "Take the crystal out of the hilt and hold it in your palms. Connect to the Force and reach out for its past."

He did as instructed. It was not something he had ever attempted before and felt awkward. He couldn't feel anything, though he had a sense it might be just beyond reach.

"Push harder, Galen." The Jedi Master paced around, encircling him as he meditated on the crystal. "Release any doubt and search," she commanded gently.

He centered himself, thinking of the garden, thinking of Lyshea. It took some time, but he finally reached out and found something....

Galen reached out to feel the crystal aboard the barge, used in the battle. It had been a weapon of the Dark Side, a Sith. However, any solid identification of the owner was not available as he was, in fact, deceased. The bond he had had with his old lightsaber lingered about, a remnant through the Force, but it was fading away.

[Galen Sol]

Using the connection, Galen tried something different, using the Force to try to get a sense of the crystal itself. But, all he seemed to find was darkness.

[Nekoinu]

"What have you found, Galen?" she inquired. The connection was faint, littered by the Dark Side its prior owner had relied upon and the chaos of his death.

[Galen Sol]

"Darkness..." he replied. "The one who wielded this is gone, but I think he left his mark upon it. I will redeem it, though."

He still didn't know what he could do with the crystal, but it was connected to the Force. All things were. If it was touched by darkness, maybe he could infuse it with light.

[Nekoinu]

The woman placed her hands upon his, in a platonic manner, to feel the crystal's energy as well. She smiled and nodded. "The crystal's energies seem to be shifting over to you. I believe the former owner's corruption does not rule it."

[Galen Sol]

"Good." he nodded. "That is promising. But, I imagine it will be some time before I'm ready to reforge this."

He looked at the broken hilt, studying it for a few moments.

[Nekoinu]

"You can try now if you'd like, Galen," she added with a smile.

"I am afraid that I have a few other things to accomplish today." he shook his head. "I can be patient."

[Nekoinu]

The Jedi Master nodded. "Very well." A pause. "What will you be doing, Galen?"

[Galen Sol]

"As I will be leaving Nar Shaddaa, there are a few preparations I would like to make." he explained. "There is also one last mystery I hope to investigate on Nal Hutta."

He looked up to her. "Where and how will we be travelling?"
