"Just so you know, I am not inexperienced myself. Had I not stood against my former master, I would be a Sith Lord now. I believe that is equivalent to your rank of Jedi Knight."

"I know your record, I was briefed, all the same you begin as a Padawan. It is our way, your past is your past you must let it go, Sith Lord means nothing now. Being a Jedi is a commitment and I will expect you to hold to that commitment above all other things," Balos responds firmly.

"I am honored to have you as a student."

[Layne Hoshin]

"I'm sure my record is incomplete," she correct. "But I do not mind starting as a padawan. I'm just pointing out we can skip over the more basic stuff."

[Balos Tyl]

Balos chuckles and says, "I am not going to make you train like a youngling but you will engage in meditations and a daily routine for Discipline and study. I doubt I need to train the Little Wrath in the use of a Lightsaber or utilizing the Force but doing so in a manner of stillness and calm will be part of the regimen."

"All the same, I expect you to act as a Jedi should at all times. You will spend your first few months on Coruscant aiding the poor and unfortunate. Attending to the great library and aiding senior Jedi with many tasks."

"Oh joy," she said, resisting the urge to roll her eyes.

And then realized something.

"What about the mission I mentioned to the masters? That should take precedence."

"Others will handle it, I trust the Jedi Council in these matters," he responds.

[Dapper Dog]

"I know this means a great deal to you Layne, but you are too close to this situation, if or when such a mission comes to pass it will be handled. You need to focus on your training and put aside such thoughts for now," Nomen Karr adds.

"They may disagree," Nomen Karr replies. "They are not just worried about the Galaxy, they are worried about you as well, you will have to show them that you can set aside the rage... the alpha dog posturing and the belief that you know better than others. It may be true, it may not, but you will need patience."

OOC: I am not actually sure what the Jedi know other then the Voice is in danger, did she tell them where to go?

"There is such a thing as sticking to caution, rules and principles too much," she said.

((She has not; but let's assume that she'll grumble about it for a bit, and then by D11 they know all of the details about it that Layne knows including where to go.))

This was going to be hell. Perhaps she *had* been underestimated how infuriating becoming a Jedi would be.

This had better be worth it.
