A Different Game (D0, The Starcross)

[Zanebry Varliss]

Z caught the look and a brief smirk crossed his lips, it passed quickly though as he turned his eyes more fully to the crew of the Starcross. Aphr received a smile and a dip of his head in greeting as he accepted his cup of tea.

Taking a small sip, his lips curled in appreciation. Tea wasn't really his thing, but Arali did brew a good cup. "So flirt first, ask questions later?"

[Eight]

Eight glanced at Zane. "No one mentioned we were planning an interrogation." Still, the Droid didn't look particularly displeased with the notion.

[Xierreau]

The hutt belly laughs careful not to spill his tea "My cousin Kidja would say liking a Hutt proves you a fool, my Aunt Dango would say wanting to serve a Hutt proves you very wise, does that make Rubac a wise fool? Do you have a term for that in basic?"

[Galen Sol]

"Janus." Galen smirked. He waved his own comment off as he accepted a cup. "There are plenty of wise fools out there, living and dead."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"The foolish part of their wisdom does seem to catch up to such men doesn't it? Especially at the worst possible moments. I don't think many of them make it past forty." He took another sip of his tea, maybe he should add some whiskey to it?

[Eight]

"Better to not be wise if it means not being a fool." Eight communicated, standing up to his full height, which was awfully close to the ceiling. Apparently the freighter hadn't been designed with battle droids in mind.

[Aphr Ahaya]

"Initiative is a virtue," she offers, to the jawa's favor, her lekku waving as she speaks. A message in a second language, just telling Aphr good morning.

The movement caught Aphrs attention, and there was a soft smile. She rarely got to meet with any Twi'lek, so she was happy that the woman who seemed to avoid anything Twi'lek based did sometimes communicate in the language of Lekku. She responded in kind, telling her good morning.

She always had a strange feeling around Arali. Something made her stand out on the ship, a weird feeling. Different to the one she got around Galen. Arali always seemed to radiate peaceful feelings, but she had never asked why.

Aphr received a smile and a dip of his head in greeting as he accepted his cup of tea.

Zane received a smile and a nod as well, but she said no more than that as the conversation turned from Jawas to fools. Or maybe it was still about the Jawa? She didn't spesk yet though.

[Zanebry Varliss]

Thinking the Twi'lek girl was perhaps being a bit shy Berry lifted a hand to beckon her over. Dipping his head in the direction of a spot beside him on the couch, he was pretty sure Xierreau wouldn't mind if she relaxed a bit.

"Honestly you might be right about that Eight, I'd take neither over being both any day."

[Xierreau]

He smiles "Not all Hutt are infalliable" he looks around "don't quote me on that of course or I might have to disavow this entire conversation, " he smiles bigger "just because my cousin says something doesn't make it true, I hear there are even a few Hutts that have learned to practice this new fangled concept the twi'leks invented, something called /deception/ not me of course I am more old school..." he sips his tea.

[Aphr Ahaya]

Being credited for deception was new, but Aphr didn't comment. She weighed up sitting on the couch verses staying next to the boss, and decided to sit down next to Zanebry. On the edge of the seat in case Xierreau disapproved or ordered her to do something.

[Galen Sol]

"It's a good tactic." Galen shrugged. "But, it doesn't always pay off. It seems like the truth always comes out at the worst time. Nothing worse than losing everything you have when someone calls your bluff."

[Xierreau]

"True, speaking of truth, rumor has it someone new is operating on Nar Shaddah, either a serial killer, cannibal or slaver, lots of people missing, no bodies, no new slaves at auction either. Does it count as a cannibal if you don't eat your own race?"

[Galen Sol]

"No." Galen shook his head. "Doesn't make it any less repugnant, though. Is this something we should look into?""

[Zanebry Varliss]

The twi-lek girl received a smile as she sat on the couch beside him.

"Hey babe, have you got permission from the boss to go out a bit tomorrow?"

He asked quietly before turning his eyes back yo the other members of the group.

"Well, telling the truth can cause problems of its own though, at least in certain situations." Was his addition to the conversation before the Hutt moved to darker tidings.

"Could be it's eating It's race as wwll as everyone else's, I think we just call it hungry at that point though. Anyone know any details Xierreau?"

[Xierreau]

"All I know for sure is there are a lot more people missing then normal and not just the standard lower class types and no one knows where they are going, no bodies or resale" he shrugs " I am sure some people could make money finding out whats happening. Might be as simple as one of the local resteraunts cutting costs on importing meat." he smirks "I should be able to find out more when we land"

[Zanebry Varliss]

"Well, let me know if you'll need any help. As it is I think we should all be a bit more careful."

"I know I'd hate ending up as part of a menu, I assume most of you are the same." Eight was probably safe though.

[Eight]

Eight considered that information for a moment. "Problem that bad, won't be long until someone is willing to pay to make it go away, lots of credits too if it's affecting the slave markets."

[Aphr Ahaya]

The twi-lek girl received a smile as she sat on the couch beside him.

"Hey babe, have you got permission from the boss to go out a bit tomorrow?"

He asked quietly before turning his eyes back yo the other members of the group.

There was a small smile, and a nod, to that.

"As long as it doesn't cause issue with my work"

she replied before the topic got a little more grim.

"Vanishing people...sounds like something the Hutts will want to end before someone tries something with the visitors here for peace talks" she commented.

[Galen Sol]

"No harm in looking into it, as long as we're careful." he shrugged. "Regardless, it will be best if we check in with one another occasionally while we're off-ship."

[Eight]

"Careful and paid," Eight clarified. "No use tracking the culprit down if the Hutts aren't going to recognize our efforts."

[Zanebry Varliss]

"I agree Galen, would be good to check in at least once a day, there is no harm in doing so at the very least." His eyes drifted towards Arali. "I'd suggest our passenger do the same as well."

"As for looking into it, as Eight said, as long as the money is right. If there is an individual or group out there killing for meat, they are bound to be dangerous after all."

[Arali Zian]

As the conversation wanders off into uncomfortable territory, Arali slips away for just a moment, to put down her tea set, returning to nurse her own cup, only for the topic to shift to cannibalism. This crew always has such interesting tea time chats.

"I do not normally hunt bounties," she reminds Zane, "though given the circumstances?" she considers the victim, and shudders. "Yes, I would be willing to assist."

[Galen Sol]

"There isn't a bounty yet." he shrugged. "Any investigating we do will be preliminary, to assess the situation. But, with a danger that could affect any of us, we'll check in regularly."

[Aphr Ahaya]

"We will have to ensure that all here are safe" Aphr commented, looking to the other Twi'lek

[Eight]

"If you're talking Intel that's fine." Eight said, turning his head towards Arali. "Anything more I hope you'll leave to those who aren't squeamish about blood."
