[Alysele Cortess]

"With one hand tied behind my back." She says with a smirk, before moving to the desk, leaning against that for a change. "I'd.. like to return home. Do some good there. You're right, Alderaan is not the only place that did, but still. It's my home."

She continued smirking at the other blond. "Oh? Fund an Yslane Institute for the Insufficiently Bureaucratic perhaps?"

[Yslane Tssilla]

"The Jedi serve all, not just those of their homeworld." Yslane's tone is serious and her smile more morose, "But it means little for me to say such....my whole life has more or less been on my homeworld so my perceptions are flawed." The statement hangs in the air for a moment.

"Yslane Institute? No, no you name it after some Senator's favorite person...that is to say the stand in for their self so they can feel like they put their name on something while maintaining the fiction they are still humble...then they pay for it and everyone that matters knows who did all the work, even if some Senator gets all the public credit. Or you could insert a noble instead of a Senator." Yslane smirked.

[Alysele Cortess]

"Mhm, that is true..." She conceded the point. "But..." she shrugged. "That's a longer plan, for now." Since she didn't have many options for shorter term...

"Oh? Alysele Copress Institute of Fashionably Disabled then?" She smirked. "You have this all planned out.... if I didn't know better, you would be scaring me right now."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"I was originally born to this life," Yslane raised an eyebrow, swapping her crossed legs, "A...brief foray into a future that was not meant to be if you will."

[Alysele Cortess]

Aly's smile was bitter. "I... know that feeling." Every day. "How do you feel about it? Giving a future not chosen a try?"

[Yslane Tssilla]

"I have no regrets." She smiles, "I feel I can do the most good on the path I walk, not the one I didn't."

[Alysele Cortess]

"That is a good approach." One that... didn't come as naturally to Aly as it should. "Been up to anything fun before this assignment?"

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Hmm not really, unless you call studying on Courscant a fun assignment." Yslane shrugged, "Master Yulani has preceded the delegation to Nar Shadda. So one could say I was left to my own devices."

[Alysele Cortess]

"Oh? Nothing set on fire then, I assume?" She asked with a cheeky smile? "For you, it might be fun? What were you studying? Your form coming along well?"

Master Yulani... a small ball of resentment grew in Aly's chest. Ys got along better with her master than Aly did with hers... but then again, probably everyone else did.

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Well enough I think, though I have been working on other things." She canted her head at that, "My focus was on other areas."

"Have you had any time to dedicate to other pursuits beyond your style?" Another smirk.

[Alysele Cortess]

"Ha! Up for some sparring perhaps sometime then? In the dead of night perhaps, so others don't see." Her response was equal parts cheeky and challenging... she did enjoy a good fight after all!

"Hunting down sith? Can't say my meditation practices improved." The more spiritual side of their training was always something that Aly struggled with, it was an open secret. "I am better with my use of the Force though. Influencing others, mainly."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"I suppose we could," Yslane raises a brow at that, "I'd imagine it would become something of row though. Given your style."

"Touching the mind of another? I would have thought you would have called on the Force to enhance your natural talents in the duel."

[Alysele Cortess]

"Hey, I'm not yelling while fighting or anything, what do you... mean.... erm..." She started blushing. "Sparring. With sabers. Not loud. Louder than usual." Yslane managed to shut down Aly's train of thought apparently.

Trying to change topics quickly, she jumped onto the second part of her comment.

"Well, that would be useful. I'm good, but not strong or fast, really. At the same time, I was trained to fight, and I needed some help when dealing with others. I'm not a sneaky assassin, but sometimes, I need to convince someone to allow me through a restricted area or some such. It seemed like a useful discipline. Besides, one lesson of Makashi is to control your opponent's perception."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"And it enhances your natural Charisma," Yslane nods, she seemed unperturbed by Alys's reaction, "I'd imagine that is why the Force brought it to the fore."

"Every style has its own weakness, and strength. Few can match the Makashi in single combat."

[Alysele Cortess]

She managed to mostly recovers herself. "Hey, I can't help it if everyone thinks I'm right." Her obnoxious smirk return, some small redness still visible. What is up with everyone today?!

"True... as long as no one is shooting at me. Can't do much about that... though been thinking of seeing whether I can find a shield gauntlet in the market here. Might help me with survival. Doesn't mean I would't need to worry about your style though. That one is just plain mean."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Oh?" She reaches into a pocket and pulls out a datapad stylus, clicking it on and waving it like a wand....bisecting her guest with some imaginary line, "Fear my pen of furious doom oh Master Jedi." Yslane waggles it more, leaving more imaginary lines across Alys, "...or not." She smiles and puts the stylus back in her pocket.

[Alysele Cortess]

Aly looked down, her expression one of mock shock. "My precious organs... anything but my organs, you monster!" She couldn't hold it in, she finally exploded in a giggling fit. "You're terrible...." she continued catching her breath, or at least trying to. "It's good to see you again."

[Yslane Tssilla]

"It has been a while," Yslane nodded, "...you surpassed me rather quickly." There was no malice in her voice, "Perhaps after this I'll..." She taps her chin in thought, "Ah no matter for the moment. Nar Shadda first, other worries later."

[Alysele Cortess]

Aly shrugged. "Yeah, but it was my job. You can do things, I can't. We can work together." Her curiosity was piqued. "No, no, continue. We're still a ways away, now I'm curious. Stop teasing."

[Yslane Tssilla]

Yslane raised an eyebrow, "...take my final trials?" She canted her head, "...were you expecting something else?"

[Alysele Cortess]

"Rule the Senate with an iron fist in a velvet glove?" She offered with a smile. "You nervous about it?"

[Yslane Tssilla]

"I'm fast approaching 19 and still a Padawan." She sighed, "Not terrible but...others have passed the trials younger."

"Rule the Senate? Nah too much blame, better to fix their policies and then if they still don't work out let the Senator take the heat."

[Alysele Cortess]

"You and your need for efficiency. " Her cheeky smile turn warmer. "If I get back to home, and retire... you'll have a place on Alderaan, if you want."

She stood up and moved closer to her friend. "Hey, don't worry. You'll get over it, easy peasy. They'd be stupid not to let you graduate." Not that the order wasn't sufficiently stupid in some cases in her opinion.

"You're here, alone, aren't you? They trust you!" More than me.

[Yslane Tssilla]

"Master Thy went ahead..." Yslane shrugged in answer. "I think I an ready but it will be her judgement."

"You need power behind the throne?" She smirked then her expression turned more apologetic, "I... will probably remain in the Order for some time. My choice."

[Alysele Cortess]

"I'll need someone smart and skilled and trustworthy." Her smile turned to a frown. "Don't worry. It's not going to happen anytime soon." Her tone indicated it wasn't her choice.

"Did you talk to her about it?"
