[D0] What Answers May Come

[Nekoinu]

Thera nodded her head. "He's not a Mandalorian, even if I, uh, wanted him to become one. He doesn't have our, well, warrior's pride."

[Niall Organa]

Niall's eyes sharpened a little as he regarded her. He sounded favored.

"In this case, I cannot fault that. Preventing further loss of life is paramount, his included." He hesitated a moment. "Although if it comes down to it..." His lips became a thin line. "I cannot let my sister's killer go free."

[Nekoinu]

"No one should, well, blame you for that. Certainly not me!" Thera paused and gave a sheepish smile. "My people, of any, understand blood feuds. I would, um, well, if something happened to my sister. Yeah." She futzed with her hair more than usual. "Do what you need to do."

[Niall Organa]

Niall nodded. "I will." He was silent for a moment, his jaw tight.

Finally, he relented, giving Thera a hint of a smile. "It's unfortunate that we've met under such tragic circumstances Ms. Ordo. I hope that, if we have the chance to speak again, it will be a more pleasant occasion."

[Nekoinu]

The Mandalorian nodded. "Yes. Well, um, I'm not sure if you'd like it but, um, you could come to the party that Corso Fett is hosting. It might be a good to place to meet my sister too."

[Niall Organa]

"Oh?" Niall's lips quirked. "And what might I expect from a Mandalorian party, Ms. Ordo?" The mind shrank at trying to imagine it.

[Nekoinu]

"Oh, they're, um, kinda loud. Really loud, actually. I'm not even sure if I should go." Thera shook her head. "No, it's important for me to take part in it. But, um, well, how well do you handle your liquor?"

[Niall Organa]

Niall thought about this for a moment. "I would say acceptably well. But I rather think that I have different standards from Mandalorians on what holding my liquor mean." He smiled. "We'll see. If you would forward me the details." He inclined his head.

"It almost sounds as though you have some misgivings of your own, Ms. Ordo." He added.

[Nekoinu]

Thera nodded and sent the details of the party over. That document was certainly less gruesome than the case file.

"Misgivings? No, no, no! I, um, do want to go. I, just, don't fit in all the time. I... Well, I'm different from the others."

[Niall Organa]

"Are you?" Niall said, his eyebrows going up just a little. "And I was hoping that you would be a typical example of the sort I'd find at the party." It was hard to tell if he was joking or not.

[Nekoinu]

"I, well, I am. Not every Mandalorian is so, well," she trailed off. She turned her head away as she thought of her next words. "Most of them are, um, more... confident. They try to show off too." She peered at him. "Am I, um, the first Mandalorian you have met?"

[Niall Organa]

"You are, in fact." Niall said. "I was born on Alderaan." That seemed like enough explanation for that part of his life. "I suppose it would have been possible to encounter Madalorians in one capacity or another during my military career, but it hasn't happened until now."

[Nekoinu]

"Well, it's, um, good you never had to come up against a Mandalorian raiding party." Thera lowered her eyes. "Those are, um, hard to combat. Like really, really hard." She looked back up to the man. "I, um, hear Alderaan is nice."

[Niall Organa]

"Perhaps I'm fortunate, then." Niall said in his usual dry tone. "The Sith have proven trouble enough."

Reminded of home, he does smile. "It is. Very nice. Even seen from space, it's all blues and greens. It's a very peaceful place. There's a lake where..." His lips twisted as he trailed off. "I hope you don't find it unusual for a military officer to speak of such things."
