"I do not have any solid conclusions. However, it is my understanding that Sith were primarily wounded by this event. Unfortunately, given our Empire's politics, that does not rule out our own. Another ship piloted by Kristal Serasai was in the blast radius." She paused. "Do you have any common enemies?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"Kristal huh? Well, we did kill that wookie jedi back on Yavin together. His slicer friend managed to get away. So it's a possibility."

[Nekoinu]

Lord Haydriss paused for a moment of a reflection. "It could be the work of a slicer. Were there any other parties involved in the slaying of this Wookiee?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"The rodian in our graduation class."

[Nekoinu]

"I have heard of her. I must admit that I am unaware if she is on Nar Shaddaa. If she did not come, then that explains why I did not hear of her being attacked either." The Sith Lord glanced to her medical tools and then back to Layne. "I do not imagine Kristal would entrust herself to my care. Do you know of my familial heritage?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"No, but I have a feeling you're about to enlighten me."

[Nekoinu]

"I could torture you by not elaborating," she responded with a deadpan voice. She allowed her words to sit for a moment before shaking her head. "I was born Haydriss Rolm. You do not require me to regale you on the recent political shift among the Moffs."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Err..." she scratched the back of her head.

It took her a few moments to figure it out. Political stuff was not her strong point.

"Oh. Right. That. Well, I don't know if Kristal's the sort to hold a grudge. At least so long as she doesn't think you were personally involved with that business."

[Nekoinu]

Lord Haydriss stared at her as Layne had to think on the matter. The judgement oozing from her was palpable. "If that is your assessment then I will keep it in mind. However, I do not have a purpose for her as I do for you."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Well that isn't ominous or anything."

[Nekoinu]

"I already informed you on the purpose I have for you." Haydriss shook her head and released the pressurized locks on her mask. She removed it, revealing her face, the most notable feature being her corrupted eyes. "Does it help you to trust me if I show you my face?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"Not particularly," she said, a bit confused. She took notice of the eyes of course, but that was hardly unusual for sith. "But, thanks?"

[Nekoinu]

Haydriss closed her eyes and sighed. "I had hoped that the operation would make you less difficult." She sucked in her lips as she thought on her next words. "What do you aspire to, Layne?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"Being stronger than anyone."

[Nekoinu]

"Understandable. For what purpose do you wish for this strength?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"Same reason anyone wants it. Why they *really* want it. So that they can do whatever the hell they want and not get hurt by others ever again."

[Nekoinu]

The Sith Lord nodded. "You are driven and capable. Pity to those who would be foolish enough to stand against you." She looked down to her mask and decided to replace it on her face. "We are alike in that matter. It should unsurprising, given that we are Sith."

[Layne Hoshin]

"Perhaps," she said, not quite buying the comparison. "Not all Sith are those things."

[Nekoinu]

"The Sith Empire would not have survived without competence and the drive for progress." She strolled over to her cabinet and opened it. "Would you like a drink? I should have asked sooner."

[Layne Hoshin]

"No thanks," she waved the offer away. "I need a clear head for the rest of the day."

[Nekoinu]

"Understandable. I imagine you have much work to be done on behalf of your interests." The Sith Lord closed the cabinet and walked back to Layne. "Did you have any further inquiries?"

[Layne Hoshin]

"No, I'll be sure to contact you if any come to mind, though."

"That is acceptable. And I will inform you when I have a task for you." The Sith Lord gestured to the debris, in case for some reason Layne wanted it, but otherwise had no other business. "It was a pleasure, Layne."
