One More For the Road? (D1, EN)

And then there was one last thing on the agenda for the day before she could allow herself to retire and get some well-deserved rest, even if she knew that the so-called rest would only be minimal and unpleasant.

She did her best to make sure no one was tailing her as she made her way to Section IX's safehouse. So far the day had been without major complications, but she figured that on a planet like this, it was only a matter of time before they happened to her... or she caused them to someone else.

Paz was on hand once they verified her clearance, it was a large warehouse converted into both a training and living space. He was testing various weapons in the training area when he sees the Sith coming.

He firs off a few more shots from the blaster pistol and then says, “My lord, didn’t think we would see you soon.”

"Nice shooting." She takes a few moments to give an appraising look at his shots. "Only acquainting myself with your new offices, Paz, and you know me, I don't slow down once the start-signal goes on. Less than a galactic standard day on Nar Shaddaa and things are already in fast motion. What's the status of things here?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Operational, I have Bao and Jin making the rounds, otherwise nice and quiet just as it should be. Heard about the space port and apparently Timu Vosk was killed, Hutts are claiming it was a suicide. Looks like it was lightsaber to the gut,” Paz says.

“Hell of a way to go, if that was suicide.”

Paz was one of the few people who got to see Shaisha genuinly surprised.

"Vosk was killed?" she blinks a few times. "Geez... that sucks. Good thing I stopped by his place first thing after landing to get that business out of the way. Hutt security has already closed off his residence then, if they're claiming it was suicide?"

[Dapper Dog]

“The way I hear it yes, I posed as security got to take a look, I mean Vosk is a big player with money so we had to check it out. It was a lightsaber, execution style he stood no chance. The window was smashed open but the front door was also unlocked.”

“Of course we had to steal the feeds before the Hutts got to them. Guess who did the deed, rhymes with pain,” he says casually.

"Layne," Shaisha sighs and pulls out the bottle of vitamin water she had picked up along the way. It would help her metabolize the drinking she had been doing for the past hours.

"Good thing I beat her to it in getting to Vosk's place then. Was she alone with Vosk, because he had a visitor when I was there this morning?"

[Dapper Dog]

"No, got an image, don't know who this is, yet," he says.

"Another Sith maybe?"

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Hmm..." Shaisha sips the water, analyzing the image.

"Maybe?" she squints her eyes, trying to get a view of the mystery-person's weapons to say for sure. The surprise visitor at Vosk's place had carried a concealed weapon of sorts, after all...

Shaisha sighs and shakes her head. "There's something about it, but nothing I can place now. Will take another look into morning, when my brain is no longer riding the buzz... Hutts are generous hosts when it comes to drinks. Apologies."

Sure, she knew she didn't have to apologize, but playing nice with those she trusted to have her back was a good habit.

"Seeing as how Vosk's dead, it certainly clears up my schedule... not that I will miss the guy, to be honest," she chuckles and takes another swig of water. "Think this mystery-person could be related to this Magpie?"

[Dapper Dog]

"I was thinking it, your words only make me think harder," Paz replies.

"If that is true she might be linked to Layne and Baras... or your little brother, Sylvain."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"It is possible," she nods, not seeming bothered by the prospect that it could be something to do with Sylvain.

"... Speaking of which, Raven Torsin was also at Vosk's place this morning, and while I don't know why she was there, she wasn't being truthful when questioned about it. She could be involved too."

[Dapper Dog]

“I will add her to the list,” Paz says.

Another woman approaches and says, “We don’t know enough to just say this could all be linked we need more data. I still think Magpie is an organization not a single person. It seems highly implausible even with the Force, no offense, Sith.”

“I need more data, we need more data, Commander,” she says.

Paz adds, “Fixer 71 on loan from Imperial Intelligence.”

"No offense taken, Fixer," Shaisha nods as she takes in the new person. "It is certainly possible. With the Force and the right gadgets, one can be quite competent, it is not unlikely that there could be multiple people operating under the name Magpie."

The Sith sighs and closes her eyes as she considers the avenues of approach.

"By morning-time, I suspect Hutt security will have easened up around Vosk's place, making it easier to go in there to make sure there isn't any stone left unturned there. If you're short on people here, I can take a look into it myself. After that, I know that the subject of Magpie is of concern to Baras too, so I shall see if I can press any more information from Sylvain on the subject."

[Dapper Dog]

"I will slice the networks," Fizer 71 adds.

Paz agrees, "Sounds like a plan."

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"Good to know we're not here to lounge around by the gambling tables," she chuckles with some sarcasm, and empties the bottle. "But do make sure you get some rest at some point, Paz. There's only so much caff and stims can do."

[Dapper Dog]

"I try but it gets so lonely around here, all work and no play," he adds looking at his blaster.

Fixer 71 returns to her duties.

[Shaisha Vreysk]

She raises a ridged eyebrow at that. "Dying to try your hand at gambling or Huttball, or merely just wanting to get out into the action again rather than being the commander of operations?"

[Dapper Dog]

“Field work would be nice, I have to sneak out of here usually if I want to do the real deal. Command has its issues but if this is where they need me so be it,” he says putting the blaster down on a table with other weapons.

“Everything is good here, my lord, unless you needed something else?”

[Shaisha Vreysk]

"You're good at it, that's why you're here for now," she offers with some consolation.

Shaisha gives it a moment of thought, but her brain is screaming for rest.

"That will be all for now. Good to see things are in capable hands. You know how to reach me if something comes up." With that, the Sith gives him a solid nod of approval and took her leave.
