Moyr Ahaya wrote:"Can you get me a facial image of the leader or leaders of those Scarlet Suns?"

"Checking now," answered the Colonel. She set down the comlink on the terminal and gave it her full attention.

Hala swore under her breath, "I'm not seeing anything useful here.... No pictures, no audio. Nothing that lends itself for easy identification.... Let me see if I can reach out to the local security station."

And with that, the colonel pulled out her pad, connecting it to the net, started searching for any local security bulletins.

"I may have something...." she muttered as she began tapping on the console screen again.

A houk Hutt Security officer answers and says in Huttese, “This is Hutt Security, we are here to protect and serve at the reasonable rate of 100 credits an hour.”

"This is Colonel Hala Moraal, military liaison to the Imperial ambassadorial delegation. A Sith was murdered in the past hour and for some reason I've wound up with the responsibility of investigating it instead of you. As a credentialed member of the entourage and guest of Dango the Hutt, I'm sure the initial legwork for services such as yours has already been provided for. All I need is information on the Scarlet Suns you may have collected. Their leadership, their operations, where they tend to gather, the like. If you would transfer those files to me, then we will shoulder the cost for prosecution," she offered, keying her screen to transmit her file request.

The security officer is quiet and then says, “Why of course, looks like Dango has already seen to the details of your contract oh there it is. I apologize for implying you had to pay. Minor mistake.”

“We an have records on the Scralet Suns sent over digitally in about eight hours. Expedited processing already covered.”

"Thank you officer," she said before cutting the feed. She glanced down at the terminal and sighed heavily before picking the commlink back up.

"Did you catch all that?"

"Yes. I may be able to identify the suspect once I see the photos. I chased him, but he got away. I am inclined to believe in religious, ritualistic motive of the murder, based on some shoddy self-righteous morality. The files you'll acquire shall be processed by your agency and then directed to whatever Sith is willing to take the matter up. The faction of the Darth Yukan belonged to may be most interested, but maybe it is a retaliation for some actions that were taken by our own against this sect or the Nikto in general, here or Kintan, so someone else may be interested to follow through as well. I am personally not inclined to pursue the matter further, and you should not be either. Just do your relay job, complete the basic intel and move on. I have a more important assignment for you and me for tomorrow, closer to our core interests. But this is something I want your privacy for."

Moyr waited.

"Understood. I'll require a moment to relocate," and the commlink clicked off.

She received a call back two minutes later.

"I'm alone now, how may I serve?"

"I spoke with Corso Fett. He needs Imperial assistance over a matter and I have accepted it as a mission of good faith between us and him. It involves upending or converting the current leadership of one of the Mandalorian factions unwilling to cooperate with him. I am interested in seeing this quickly resolved, as a proof of our decisiveness and efficacy. I believe you're up for the task to assist me in this."

"I understand. Who are the relevant players and what do you know of them?" she asked vaguely, the commlink on the other end rustling as the colonel shifted about to begin taking notes.

Moyr briefed Hala on what she had been told... And then, something occurred to her.

"Now that I think of it, there may be another priority. I need an excuse to speak with an Evocii cultural scholar who is under the control of one Givaga the Hutt, based on Nal Hutta. Regardless of the investigation, I would like to examine the 'Evocii trail' of this ritualistic murder, to consult an expert. Will you take a trip with me tomorrow?"

He knew she was getting away, he could barely see her. Still, focusing on the task at hand, and continued to zip through traffic. Allowing his instincts to take hold, he raced against traffic, and worked to catch up.

Ooc: using my advantages to give myself a boost die should I prevent her from gaining another range band.

"It is certainly possible that the Evocii were responsible instead of the Nikto.... I will be happy to accompany you tomorrow," came the answer almost immediately.

"Good. Let's do it before the standard noon, so that the investigation does not lose momentum. As for the Mandalorian issue, try to learn more than Corso said before we approach them, and perhaps develop a draft plan."

"I will approach some of the other Mandalorians then, perhaps if any are known to be in proximity to them. But I agree, we should have our cards in hand before we make our play."

The race was either over or he was just so far behind it did not matter but for a first time it was actually pretty good as he wasn’t dead. He finally sees her leaning against a noodle stand with her swoop sitting nearby idle.

She waves him over and says, “I thought you might have died, but damn if you didn’t hang in there. Look the boys are never going to give up whatever you are looking for and frankly I don’t really care either way.”

“I just liked it when we did less of the pseudo-religious stuff and more racing. I don’t know the details but if you are determined to stick your blue nose where it isn’t wanted then hit up a public chat on the holonet, called RSDreams.se, best I can do.”

He was actually laughing as he pulled the swoop up next to hers. "And here I was thinking I was going to end up as something to be scraped up by a cleaning crew." Cutting the engine off, he walked up to her. "Hopefully I'll get a chance to prove myself later."

His demeanor turned more serious as he listened to her. "Got it. Thank you. And I was truthful, I'll keep mine clear of your turf. Unless you invite us to a party, that is."

Looking over his shoulder at the bikes, then back to her. "Need me to drop the bike back off?"

"Yeah, you should probably do that," she says looking at the swoop.

"How did it move?"

His confidence returning to his features, he couldn't help but grin widely, the flash of his gleaming white teeth a hard contrast to his blue flesh. "Like a dream. I think I'll have to buy one of my own sometime."

Taking a respectful bow, he moved to get back on the swoop. "I'm sure I'll see you around." Giving her an opportunity to respond, he would take off after, amd headed back to the meeting area with the Scarlet Suns.

Obeying all posted speeds, of course.

---

Once he arrived, he'd gladly, though with a slight twinge of longing, return the swoop. "Well, I didn't win. Guess I'm not getting anything out of you boys. Other than a great story to tell any grand kids in the future." He sighed, before giving a firm nod to the leader. "I'll stay out of your scales."

"Aye," voiced the commlink and the connection dropped.
