Ride of the Valkyries Part 2 [D1 LM]

[Remmington Thalalas]

After paying his dock fees at the Spaceport, Remmington heads over to the nearby cantina to get some real food and meet up with potential members. He orders some food and decides to make some bets while he waits.

[Niall Organa]

Not long after he sat, Remmington was approached by a tall man, thinly built, wearing a heavy cloak. His features would be instantly recognizable from the correspondence they exchanged, handsomely aristocratic, his dark brown hair just skirting the edges of military regulation into fashionable.

Niall cleared his throat. "Mister Thalalas, I presume? Or is it Lord Thalalas?"

[Remmington Thalalas]

A timely arrival as Remmington plays his hand. He decides that it is enough for now and calls it quits.

He turns and takes a moment to register the man. He smiles and extends his hand in greeting. "That is correct. Most people will call me Lord Thalalas but you may call me Remmington if we are going to be on the same team. You must be Captain Niall Organa? Come join me for some food."

He gestures for them to take a seat at an empty table.

[Niall Organa]

There is only the barest of hesitations before Niall reaches out to shake the man's hand, his lips curling up into a slight smile. "All right, then. Remmington it is. And you can call me Niall."

Another hesitation, and he nodded. "Yes, thank you. I'm afraid that I can't stay too long; I have another engagement that I can't be late for." His lips twitched. "Of course, it also wouldn't do to go to the first Huttball game without even meeting the team's organizer, would it?" He said, his tone dry.

[Remmington Thalalas]

"Will do Niall."

He shakes his head.

"No worries. I still have to meet with potential members myself. I am hoping to play our first match this evening. Right during prime time television hours. So if you can make it to that then there is no problem." He waits for the man before taking a seat himself.

"So what sparked your interest to joining my Hutt Ball team Niall?"

[Niall Organa]

Niall gave Remmington an approving nod as he slid into a seat. "I don't expect that to be a problem." He said.

"Hmmm..." Niall tapped his fingers on the table. "There were a number of things. I used to be captain of my academy's Grav-Ball team. It's a bit similar. Fewer blasters." His lips twitched again. "But mostly, I appreciated the idea behind it. If we're going to take peace seriously, it's going to need to work on a low level, not just a high one. And so, Sith and Republic, playing Huttball together..." He shook his head, chuckling. "An intriguing idea indeed, Remmington."

[Arsele Girard]

"He was pretty good, I have to admit," a voice from behind the two said.

If they were to look back they would find a shortish woman in a blue sequined dress that watched her eyes; The voice would be easy enough to recognize though.

[Niall Organa]

"Thank you, Arsele." Niall said, his tone warm.

A moment passed.

Turning wasn't enough. Niall rose to his feet as he turned, his expression stunned. "What?" He said.

After a moment, he shook his head, grinning. "Arsele Girard. I don't think I can believe it. Surely this is some sort of Sith mind trick?" He seemed much more open and cheerful than he had been mere moments before.

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods at the information. "Experience as a leader in both military and another sport. You will definitely be a good addition. I will be relying on you to make the play by plays for our team Niall.

You are certainly right about the peace. I think our team will make a name for itself just being the representation we will have."

When he hears the voice he turns towards the speaker as well. At Niall's joke he sort of plays along. "Sorry, I didn't do that on you yet." He grins.

"So... are you going to introduce you me to this fetching creature?" He looks from Arsele to Niall.

[Niall Organa]

Somewhat absently, Niall responded to Remmington's request. "This is Arsele Girard. Of House Girard of Alderaan, of course. I've known her since I was a child. And I haven't seen her in years, and now she's suddenly shown up here."

Still stunned, Niall didn't remember to reverse the introductions.

[Arsele Girard]

"Last time I saw you Nini, you were still shorter than me..."

She shook her head, still smiling, before turning to the other man, "And you must be Remmington Thalalas, the one who sent the offer about Huttballing."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington offers a polite bow to her and extends his hand. "That is correct. Remmington Thalalas of the former House Balmung. I am currently recruiting members for team Valkyrie. I am looking for skilled people and welcome representation from all sides."

After the explanation he smiles softly. "You have a rather impressive resume. I am glad that you signed up. I am looking forward to seeing your flexibility in action." He winks.

Back to a professional smile them both. "Welcome to team Valkyrie to the both of you. As I was telling Niall, I am hoping to play right away and thinking of going for our inaugural match first thing this evening."

[Niall Organa]

"Last time I saw you Nini, you were still shorter than me..."

Niall laughed. "Right. Well, I guess some things change. Finding you joining a huttball team certainly tells me that other things stay the same."

He turned back to Remmington. "I'm glad to be part of the team. You won't regret signing her, either." He looked back to Arsele. "She had more spirit as a child than some soldiers I've known."

[Arsele Girard]

"I know what I want, that's all. Though perhaps I've mellowed out a bit as I've grown up..."

She turned to Remy, "Still, I am curious where you got my... resume, Mister Thalalas. And what exactly was on there..."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington chuckles. "I rather look forward to our adventures. Hopefully we can all become rich and famous."

To Arsele's question he looks a bit coy. "Who knows? I cannot be sure if it is accurate or not."

[Niall Organa]

"I know what I want, that's all. Though perhaps I've mellowed out a bit as I've grown up..."

"I'll believe that when I see it." Niall said dryly, still smiling.

He waited to see how the conversation about the resume worked out.

[Arsele Girard]

Arsele chuckles as she looks between the two, "I suppose that about sums things up; One shouldn't believe things until one sees results. So I will simply need to prove myself, hm?"

[Niall Organa]

"I suppose that's so." He is silent for a moment. "Like when there was that rumor that the math teacher ate brains, so we had to break into the teacher's lounge."

He rose from his chair. "Alas, there is somewhere I have to be. Ummm... you can have my seat, Arsele." He gave her a sudden sharp look. "You heard about Rayne, I hope?" Pain flashed in his grey eyes.

[Arsele Girard]

"I was... informed, yes. Though I imagine my knowledge of the details is spotty at best."

She laid a hand on his sleeve as she looked at Niall.

[Niall Organa]

Niall nodded, his gaze dropping for a moment. His head came up again as she touched his sleeve. "Thank you." He said softly, a wan smile on his lips.

"Ah..." He shout a quick glance at Remmington. "Can we speak of this later? There's some things I want to tell you." He grimaced. "And no doubt there will be even more after today. But I can't be late."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods to Niall. "Of course Niall. Do what you need to do. I'll see you later for Hutt Ball and we can talk another time." He offers a pleasant smile.

He looks over to Arsele and wears a slight grin. "I certainly do want to put you to the test miss Arsele. As soon as possible in fact. We are planning to place in a few hours in the early evening. I hope you can make it so I can see you in action."

[Arsele Girard]

She glances with concern as the two men talk before turning back to Remmy, "I'll be there this evening, don't worry about that; Already had it on my schedule."

[Remmington Thalalas]

Remmington nods and takes out his datapad. He turns it around to show her the resume that he found. "So does that look accurate to you? It was just on the public Holonet. I decided to check you out." He admits.

[Niall Organa]

"Thank you. It's been a pleasure to meet you, Remmington." Niall gave the man a firm nod.

He turned to Arsele, smiling. "And it's great to see you again. Let's meet later. Tomorrow? We can catch up on old times. And some new ones."

After receiving confirmation for that, he turned, striding purposefully away, although he cast one last look over his shoulder.

[Arsele Girard]

Arsele smiled at Niall and nodded, "Definitely; It's been too long, and it seems like we both have a lot to catch up on..."

Watching him walk away briefly she turned back and took datapad, looking it over; ...good, nothing she wouldn't want out there. It seemed to focus a lot on her work bounty hunting, but that was hardly surprising for Nar Shaddaa; The cartels cared more about those who could be dangerous than entertainers.

"Hm... this all looks right I suppose."
