Interview [Day 9, Late Afternoon]

[Kristal Serasai]

Standing outside of her ship, Kristal awaited the two she had contacted to arrive. Both her mother, and the man she had hoped would manage to perform the operation required. Though Kristal had her own reservations of the man due to his enlisted nature in the Republic Military.

[Dapper Dog]

Her mother contacts her via commlink, "When he arrives bring him to my ship."

[Cole Ormont]

Cole arrived promptly, his loose-jointed stride almost a saunter, and his perfectly-pressed uniform hanging from his frame in a rumpled kind of way that could not be explained with logic. He nodded to Kristal, "hrmm, what do you prefer I call you?"

[Kristal Serasai]

Armor was clear underneath the dark robe that hung loosely over it. Kristal appeared as the warrior she was, honor-bound by her own ethics. Arms crossed behind her back she broke her hands away to her side as she saw Cole approaching. Stepping past him as he stopped in front of her, with the clear intention and indication for him to turn about and follow her.

"My Lord, would be most appropriate," she said as they walked side by side. Asking as much as testing, "Shall I in turn refer to military rank or true name?"

[Cole Ormont]

Cole cleanly about-faced and fell into step beside her. "Officer Ormont will suffice for the time being."

[Kristal Serasai]

"As you wish, Officer Ormont," she replies, solidifying that as his address before pressing on. Content to focus on moving from one place to the other instead of idle conversation.

Without much distraction they would soon arrive at her mothers Hanger. Approaching the ship without haste but quickly enough that it wasn't a casual pace.

[Cole Ormont]

If Cole had any thoughts on the situation, he kept them to himself.

[Dapper Dog]

The wookiee waits at the bottom of the ramp and greets the two with oars and grunts, "The boss is waiting, go on inside."

[Kristal Serasai]

It was hard to tell with Wookies, but it seemed friendly enough that she assumed the meaning well enough. Stepping past the wookie she offered her a firm nod while leading Cole inside.

Offering a few choice words to her companion, "Be on your best behaviour."

Her mother was cleaning her weapon and focuses her gaze on the stranger and says, “Is this the doctor?”

[Kristal Serasai]

"Officer Cole Ormont, Republic medic, this is the doctor. Comes with Shaisha's reccomendation, saw his work myself," she offered to her mother to allow her the chance to make her own appraisal.

Notably, not offering much of her own opinion.

[Cole Ormont]

Cole nodded curtly to the woman, expression cool and guarded. His usually slack posture has been reigned in, but he still isn't as still as Captain Alderaan.

[Dapper Dog]

She gestures for Cole to speak, "Credentials?"

[Cole Ormont]

"Petty Officer Cole Ormont, surgeon, Galactic Republic Navy." The words were clearly well practiced, and his arm twitched as he suppressed the reflex to salute.

[Dapper Dog]

“Have any experience with patients with possible brain trauma?” the woman asks as she holsters her weapon. She stands and moves to a work bench to tidy some gear while listening.

[Cole Ormont]

"Yes," he states flatly. He doesn't give away the sudden concern that washes over him; the brain was delicate, complex, and individual. The slightest move could prove to be the wrong one.

[Dapper Dog]

"Then you'll be useful, the mission is clear I need you to assess a patient currently in a coma," the woman responds clearly. For Kristal it is a bit jarring as her mother has dropped her imperial accent during this conversation taking on a more Outer Rim or Republic flavor to her words.

[Cole Ormont]

"Where is the patient now?" Cole inquired. "I'd like to get started."

[Kristal Serasai]

Remaining as she was, Kristal kept the jarring experience from making it's way to her expression. Giving her mother the field to play this as she wanted.

[Dapper Dog]

She turns and starts walking deeper into the light freighter as the wookiee closes the hatch and moves to another section of the ship. If Cole follows he finds a small room converted into a medical lab, a crude one but with enough room to have a bacta tank with a Zabrak flowing in it, unconscious.

“He has been in this state for several months now,” she says looking at the patient. "What's your price?"

OOC: Average Medicine check with a setback due to the quality of the equipment.

[Cole Ormont]

Cole's lips thinned a little at the crude set up, drawing his mediscanner and turning on his spectacles with a tap. Information began flowing in, and he absorbed it coolly for several moments.

Finally, "it's delicate work. I can't guarantee the results, and I can't he'll be useful to you even if he does wake up. If you want me to go ahead, 200 credits."

[Dapper Dog]

"Done," she says casually.

[Cole Ormont]

Cole moves closer to the tank, adjusting his mediscanner. He refines the scans with narrower and narrower passes, eventually tapping the spectacle frames and instructing, "diagnostic model." In his vision, a three-dimensional reconstruction of the Zabrak's brain appeared.

He wished for a proper surgery, or even just access to a full-size display. In brain surgery terms, he might as well be going in blind. But there was no sense in delaying, he had all the data there was to glean, so he set himself up and laid out his tools.

Running his hand through his hair once more, Cole pulled on gloves and tapped the spectacles, "diagnostic overlay." The holomodel dissolved to be replaced with a projected map over the Zabrak's head. Expression neutral and professional, he set to work.

There seems to have been some kind of medical procedure done on this Zabrak in the last few days with some semi-fresh sutures, though the scarring was setting in. The brain was intact and seems undamaged but there were irregularities they could be fixed but would require invasive surgery… he could do it here but the conditions are not terribly ideal.

The zabrak is slowly dying, he suspects the operation is probably the cause of the issue.
